Journal of Pubnursing Sciences (JPS) supports the OAI Metadata Harvesting Protocol (OAI-PMH Version 2.0) as part of its commitment to disseminating knowledge more broadly within the scientific community.
OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) is a protocol designed to facilitate interoperability between digital repositories by enabling efficient metadata harvesting. This protocol allows other digital archives to access and harvest metadata from the JPS database, thereby simplifying indexing, discovery, and the global dissemination of scientific information.
Developed by the Open Archives Initiative, OAI-PMH aims to establish interoperability standards for metadata exchange. It supports more structured, transparent, and accessible scientific data management for researchers, academics, and the general public. By implementing this protocol, JPS contributes to the open-access knowledge ecosystem, making scientific publications more easily discoverable through indexing services such as Google Scholar, OpenDOAR, and others.
As part of its implementation, metadata provided through OAI-PMH typically includes bibliographic information such as article titles, authors, abstracts, keywords, and other relevant data. This protocol utilizes standard metadata formats, such as Dublin Core, to ensure cross-platform compatibility
