Rapid densification in Jakarta has increased pressure on basic urban services and raised concerns about whether high-density neighborhoods enjoy adequate walking access to health, economic, and transport services in Mampang Prapatan District. This study aims to assess this accessibility by combining open building footprints, a simple population estimation method, and network-based accessibility analysis. Building footprints from Google Open Buildings were used to approximate the number of residents per 500 × 500 m grid cell, assuming an average of four inhabitants per residential building. Points of interest for health facilities, small-scale economic activities, and public transport stops were collected from Google Maps, and walking times along the OpenStreetMap street network were calculated using a closest-facility analysis. Each grid cell was classified into one of five accessibility classes—Very Low, Low, Moderate, High, and Very High, and a composite accessibility index was constructed to summarize combined access to all three service types. The results show that most high-density grid cells in the central and north-eastern parts of the district fall into the Moderate, High, or Very High classes, together accounting for 69% of the study area and indicating relatively compact and walkable access to key services. In contrast, 31% of grid cells, concentrated in the southern and south-western areas, remain in the Low or Very Low classes, revealing clear spatial inequalities in access to pedestrian links. The approach is straightforward to implement with open data and can support local planning efforts aimed at promoting more equitable, walkable, and low-carbon urban development.
