Screening for Plagiarism

Plagiarism Policy

Journal of Geographical Sciences and Education uses turnitin in evaluating similarity indices and then editors decide cases of possible plagiarism. The results of the screening will be submitted together with the editor's comments on the manuscript process. Authors are prohibited from using other people's ideas without attribution. All sources must be properly cited in the article, and reuse of words must be limited and linked or cited in the text. Manuscripts found to have been plagiarized from manuscripts by other authors, whether published or unpublished, will be rejected by the editor.

The editorial board has passed the following actions:

1. Similarity Index >40%: Article Rejected and RETURN SHIPPING NOT ACCEPTED.
2. Similarity Index (20-40%): The author needs to improve (correctly cite all places of similarity and do good paraphrasing even if the quote is provided).
3. Similarity index < 20%: Accepted or corrected citations may be required.

In cases 2 and 3: The author must carefully revise the article, add necessary citations, and do good paraphrasing of the outsourced text. And resubmit the article with turnitin report showing NO PLAGIARISM and less than 15% similarity.
